CONSTANT FIXTURE

Serbian defender Branislav Ivanovic has been a constant fixture at the right back for Chelsea this campaign. His performances have been far superior to that of any player in the backline and it has cost Jose Mourinho to field Azpilicueta as the left back.

The Spaniard has even been able to dislodge the default left back at the club – Ashley Cole. Ivanovic has been playing in every match he was fit. The Serbian has also repaid the faith shown by Mourinho by scoring some important goals with the most recent one coming against Manchester city in the league.

Chelsea trip to the Etihad stadium knowing that anything other than three points would be catastrophic for the club given that Arsenal and Liverpool are also in the title race. Ivanovic scored the only goal of the game in the 1-0 win.

However, the impressive form shown by the 30-year-old has not gone unnoticed, as it has been learnt in the last few weeks that it has led to interest from French outfit Paris St Germain. They have abundant sums of money due to the investment from the Qatari owners and they are looking to dominate Champions League football for the next decade.

Ivanovic has claimed that the club have improved substantially since when Mourinho arrived in the summer. The 30-year-old has always made more than 250 appearances for the club.

"I can say this is the happiest I have been at Chelsea because, at the moment, the team is doing well and things are going right for us. We have improved as a team since the beginning of the season, it looks like we are a very strong team but we have the potential to make and build an amazing team. We don't talk a lot about the league. I think it will be very tough, both teams are fighting hard for the title and both have the quality to win it," said Ivanovic.
